Gouache

Growing up, my parents frequently took me to the beach, where I spent hours snorkeling. While coral reefs are often highlighted in travel imagery, California is better known for its kelp forests. I found these environments mysterious and captivating, filled with urchins, fish, starfish, seals, and leopard sharks. This piece reflects those childhood experiences and my lasting fascination with the underwater ecosystems I grew up exploring.
