Body Paint

Like its blue counterpart, this piece was created for my final project and is a reimagining of my camouflage assignment. I was inspired by Skin Wars and its use of the human body as a canvas, as well as the visual language of Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms. Unlike the blue version, the almond blossom imagery here is based on a modern, commercialized reinterpretation rather than Van Gogh’s original painting. This distinction reflects my interest in how classical imagery is repurposed in contemporary culture. This work is meant to be displayed next to Hiding Behind The Blue Almond Blossoms, allowing the two pieces to visually interact.
