Watercolor

This piece was inspired by Yoko Ono’s book Grapefruit, a collection of poetic, conceptual instructions. For this assignment, each student was given a different passage to interpret visually. While I cannot locate the original excerpt, it described taking fish out of an aquarium, tying them to the sky, and watching them swim above. I was drawn to the surreal and poetic nature of the prompt and used it as an opportunity to paint fish in a dreamlike, fantasy-inspired setting.
