Oil Paint

This piece is a study of artist Storm Tharp, who is known for abstract self-portraits and a limited color palette. I enjoyed exploring abstraction and restraint while studying his work. The process was challenging, as I was translating an ink-based portrait style into oil paint, but it allowed me to experiment with texture, form, and expressive mark-making.
